Alsace Lait's roots date back to 1915. The present-day dairy cooperative was formed in 1979 through the merger of Laiterie Centrale de Strasbourg with four regional cooperatives.
Today, Alsace Lait brings together around 210 dairy farmers and approximately 250 employees. Milk is collected daily from farms in around 170 villages within a 60-kilometre radius.
The headquarters and production facility are located in Hoerdt, approximately 20 kilometres north of Strasbourg. The site produces milk, cream, cream cheese and quark products, as well as culinary and industrial preparations.
